Modular Sleep System Lineage

The military modular sleep system concept combines climate-specific sleeping bags with a weather-resistant outer bivy and compression storage so users can select or layer components for different field conditions. This collection includes USGI-pattern MSS configurations, patrol and intermediate cold-weather bags, bivy covers and AKMAX-developed Rifleman systems.

MSS and Rifleman Configurations

Standard MSS configurations use separate patrol, cold-weather and bivy components. The AKMAX Rifleman system takes a different approach: the GM and GT sleeping bags use bivy-cover-type waterproof shell material directly as the sleeping-bag outer fabric, so there is no separate bivy cover.

• Rifleman Full Kit: GM sleeping bag + GT sleeping bag + black compression storage sack.
• Rifleman GM: individual GM sleeping bag + compression sack made from bivy-cover-type material.
• Rifleman GT: individual GT sleeping bag + compression sack made from bivy-cover-type material.
