AKMAX PLCE High-Capacity Internal-Frame Rucksack — a modular field pack with three detachable exterior pouches and five listed color options.

The system combines a drawstring main compartment, internal aluminum support, padded suspension and quick-detach exterior storage. It is intended for multi-day outdoor equipment, institutional samples and configured project supply.

PLCE Heritage & Design Context

PLCE refers to the British Personal Load-Carrying Equipment concept. British Army material from 1984 described PLCE as new webbing and rucksack equipment, and a 1989 Ministry of Defence policy document introduced the related 90 Pattern Infantry equipment as a replacement for the older 58 Pattern system.

The official 1989 description identified several principles that became characteristic of the PLCE family:

  • A versatile load-carriage system built around webbing, a waist belt and a main rucksack
  • Detachable rucksack side pouches that could be used separately with a dedicated yoke
  • A main rucksack that formed an integral part of the complete carrying system
  • A lightweight aluminum-alloy frame fitted inside the rucksack structure
  • The ability to change between lighter assault loads and complete marching loads according to operational conditions

These modular ideas are why PLCE-style rucksacks remain recognizable to military-equipment buyers, training organizations and institutions in markets influenced by British equipment and load-carriage traditions, including parts of Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Caribbean and the Pacific.

AKMAX Modernized Interpretation

This AKMAX product is not presented as original British government issue, military surplus or an item approved by the UK Ministry of Defence. It is a modernized PLCE-inspired platform that retains the recognizable main-rucksack and detachable-pouch architecture while offering current fabric, color and project-configuration options.

For institutional procurement, the historical PLCE layout provides a familiar starting point. AKMAX can then evaluate project-specific fabrics, camouflage patterns, buckles, webbing, labels, markings, pouch configurations and packaging against an approved sample.

Official historical references

Core Features

  • Modular four-piece storage layout: Main rucksack plus two large detachable side pouches and one detachable front pouch.
  • Internal support: The current product record specifies an internal aluminum frame for shape retention and load distribution; final frame construction should be confirmed against the approved sample.
  • Quick-detach exterior pouches: Zippered attachment allows the side pouches to be removed or configured according to the load requirement.
  • Top and main storage: Drawstring main opening, top zip compartment and internal organization provide separated equipment access.
  • Adjustable suspension: Padded shoulder straps and waist belt support fit adjustment and carried-load distribution.
  • 1000D Oxford construction: The existing specification lists 1000D Oxford fabric. It is described as water-resistant; no waterproof rating or immersion claim is made.

Image-Listed Dimensions

  • Main Compartment: 13.8 × 7.5 × 23.6 in / 35 × 19 × 60 cm
  • Large Side Pouches: 8.1 × 5.5 × 14.2 in / 21 × 14 × 36 cm — 2 pieces
  • Front Pouch: 6.3 × 3.5 × 11 in / 16 × 9 × 28 cm — 1 piece

Capacity note: The legacy page and SKU use “120L,” but the published component dimensions do not independently verify 120 liters. The 120L figure has therefore been removed from the confirmed public specification until physical volume testing is completed.

Listed Color Options

  • Camouflage
  • Multi-Terrain
  • Olive Drab
  • Black
  • Digital Desert Camo

Color appearance may vary by production batch and display. Confirm the approved fabric swatch or sample for project orders.

Applications

  • Configured procurement based on the existing PLCE platform

Wholesale & Project Procurement

AKMAX supports sample evaluation, quantity-based quotations and configured supply for distributors, outdoor wholesalers, institutional buyers and qualified project requirements.

Selected fabrics, colors, camouflage patterns, webbing, buckles, labels, markings and packaging can be evaluated using the existing PLCE structure. Final specifications, MOQ, pricing, lead time and inspection requirements are confirmed through an approved sample and quotation.

Submit a B2B Project Inquiry with the required quantity, destination country, color, configuration and delivery schedule.

Specification Confirmation

Before bulk procurement, confirm measured usable capacity, finished dimensions, pack weight, internal-frame material and configuration, fabric specification, water-resistance test method, pouch attachment method and complete component list against the approved physical sample and bill of materials.

FAQ

Is the usable capacity confirmed as 120L?
No. The legacy record uses 120L, but the current dimension graphic does not verify that volume. Physical capacity testing is required.

Are the three exterior pouches included?
The current listed configuration and product imagery show two large side pouches and one front pouch. Confirm the final packing list on the quotation.

Is the fabric waterproof?
The current specification lists 1000D Oxford fabric, but no certified waterproof rating is provided. It is therefore described as water-resistant.
